In this post I:
1) share about an opportunity for your organization to sponsor a Georgia Tech Master of Science in Analytics program *for free*
2) share an automation tip about chatGPT
3) share about a rewarding referral program
1) Free project from Georgia Tech (GT) graduate students
The Georgia Tech Master of Science in Analytics is collecting proposals for real-world data science and advanced analytics projects. Applications are due October 1, 2023 and projects start in the Spring 2024 academic term. You can read more here.
Go Jackets!
I have two degrees from GT - my BS in Chemical Engineering (2015) and Master of Science in Analytics (2020). One of my graduate projects laid the foundation for my business and I’m ‘coming full circle’ as I am now advising a practicum project between Georgia Tech and a customer, facilitating hands-on learning for students and problem-solving for the sponsoring organization.
Please email me at dwm@mccandlessconsulting.com if I can be of any assistance in developing a proposal, advising a project, etc. You can schedule a meeting here.
Georgia Tech accepts proposals three times a year, so if your organization isn’t ready to write a proposal now, you’ll have another chance in about four months.
2) An automation tip
I'm a big fan of most Marvel movies. In the past when I would watch Tony Stark (Ironman) interacting with his personal artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S., from asking him to research some topic to help him design a new suit, I would think, 'Wow, if only AI were that helpful.'
While I don't know of any AI anywhere near as helpful as J.A.R.V.I.S., as I've recently used ChatGPT to help me solve problems in and outside of work, I've thought, 'Wow, I feel a bit like Tony Stark.' ChatGPT has saved me time with a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
Getting a social media post under the maximum characters allowed
Helping a fellow Airbnb host coin a name for her new listing
Creating /updating Python functions
If you haven't tried out ChatGPT, it's super easy to use. You can make a free account and start asking questions today. You don't even have to download an app. If you'd like any help making use of ChatGPT, simply respond to this note.
3) Referral program
Thank you for sharing your time to educate me about your business and learn about mine. If you think of a business who might benefit from connecting with MCL, please fill out this referral submission form.
Referral rewards:
For each referral submitted prior to 11:59 PM October 20, 2023, I'll enter your name into a drawing for $50.
For every referral of a new lead that turns into a billing customer, I'll share 10% of the first 6 months of billing.
